IMPACT AND INSIGHT TOOLKIT
ARTS COUNCIL ENGLAND
COUNTING WHAT COUNTS
CULTURE COUNTS PTY
TECHNOVORE was approached by the team at Counting What Counts Ltd to help deliver the Impact and Insight Toolkit on behalf of Arts Council England. We offered support on both the Project Management elements of the project and the design and build of the front end website via our network of professional web designers and system administrators.
Initially, the project involved working with multiple teams across different time zones to ensure that the development of the software was proceeding according to the allocated time frame and budget whilst simultaneously ensuring that all stakeholders were engaged, consulted and were giving appropriate approvals as the system developed.
Later in the project life-cycle the need arose to move from an external consultant project manager to an internal one who would run with the project to the end of its funding in several years. We ensured a seamless handover and at the same time worked closely with the Senior Leadership team to develop standard operational procedures, rigorous multi national, multi stakeholder GDPR policies and contracts to ensure that the project operates at the highest possible levels of compliance. Working with such a talented team of individuals on a multi-million pound contract was exciting, challenging and best of all, fun.

Below you can see the clear and simple layout for the home page. With rigorous attention paid to the contrast ratios used on the page, font size and placement and of course, testing the colour pallets to ensure that those with difficulty seeing or distinguishing colours would be able to use the site. We checked all of the content for compatibility with screen readers and ensured that the menu system was navigable by those with difficulty using a mouse or other pointing device. The site was also optimised for page load speeds with world class caching systems used and custom script was used to modify the responsive designs breakpoints.
We also incorporated and styled a range of features such as fully featured calendar and booking system.

We are extremely proud of the work we did with this fantastic team of people. It would have been easy to make a project of this scale into a difficult beast to handle but through agile work practices, regular communication and a talented team curated from across the Arts and Culture sector, it wasn’t just smooth sailing, it was also a lot of fun.
