How Can We Help?
Choosing a Domain Name
Your domain name or web address can be really important. It’s not always the case, but it can be.
If you are planning to build a business or shop, you want your domain name to;
- Be catchy and easy to remember.
- Be short that it can be easily recalled and typed in.
- Be easily differentiated from any competitors.
- Says something about what you do or what you want to sell.
- Be available!
Once you know what you want your domain name to be, the next step is to register it (or get us to register it for you) and move on to designing an identity for your site.
This site identity consists of many elements but in this short article we will just consider the tagline.
Your tagline can add a little extra information to your site (and this can be displayed in your search results), so for example you could have
“theindependenttravellers.blog” – “A guide for the adventurous spirit”
This shows what you are doing “.blog”, Who you are “theindependanttraveller” and who your site is for, those with an “adventurous spirit”.
You probably wouldn’t want theindependenttravellersblogaguidefortheadventurousspirit.co.uk or the-independent-travellers-blog-a-guide-for-the-adventurous-spirit.co.uk as these are long and a pain to type!
If you would like to discuss your prospective domain name some more, get in touch and we will give you a hand!
